3 point shooting barrage sets team and NBA records.

3 point shooting, 3 point shooting, 3 point shooting. It's the new norm in the NBA, but it's always impressive when a team catches fire and breaks records along the way.

In this win over the Houston Rockets, the Suns set a new franchise record 25 3-pointers made.

They also broke NBA records with 12 made 3's in the 2nd quarter, which is a new NBA high and 18 made 3's in a half, which ties the NBA record.

Led by Jae Crowder's career high 8 3-pointers and season high 26 points (all in the 1st half), the Suns 25 3's came on 45 attempts, which is an impressive 55.6% from downtown. Apart from Deandre Ayton, every Sun that played attempted and made at least 1 3-pointer.

While we're talking about 3's, our bench was on fire. They shot 12 of 22, with Cam Johnson, Cam payne and Jevon Carter's hitting 3 each.

The Suns were absolutely scorching in the 1st half making those 18 3's on only 24 attempts. They finished the half, aptly with a 3 from Jae Crowder to go in to the break up 81-58. The 81 points are a season high for Phoenix. They did however cool off in the 2nd half.

The Suns managed only 45 points in the 2nd half, which is only 2 more than they reached in the 2nd quarter. Their 3-point shooting dropped back down to earth, with them shooting 33% from downtown, compared to the 75% in the 1st half. As we've seen this season, the Suns let their guard down and allowed the lowly Rockets to reduce the Suns 23 point half time lead down to only 6 in the 4th quarter, with Monty Williams commenting, "we just have to be better in those moments when you have a chance to put a team away. We just didn’t do that well tonight.”

They will need to be better than that in today's match-up with the visiting Miami Heat.

Devin Booker had his usual good all round game with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists on 50% shooting, though he did have 6 turnovers.

Deandre Ayton added 18 points and 8 rebounds, while defending the paint with authority, starring down the opposing players multiple times in the game.

It was a quiet night for Chris Paul, who had 9 points and 10 assists.

He also had 2 steals which helped him jump ahead of Scottie Pippen for the 6th spot on the NBA all-time steals list.
