#BeatLA was in full force as Suns win 111-94

Though the Lakers were without LeBron James, Anthony Davis & Marc Gasol, the Suns took care of business. A loss here would have been dire, alas we don't have to worry about that today.
This was an important win, as I've mentioned a loss to a depleted Lakers would have felt like the loss to Minnesota earlier in the week. The prize to this win though is we now own the tiebreaker over the Lakers. With how close the West is looking to be come playoff time and fans starting to be allowed back in to games, having the tiebreaker will mean having homecourt, if team's records are tied once the season end.
This win keeps us 2nd in the Western Conference, 2 games behind Utah, but crucially 1 game ahead of the Lakers and 2 games ahead of the Clippers.
Now on to the game:
Chris Paul did his usual job of running the show, finishing with the first triple double of his Phoenix Suns career. He also hit a huge milestone becoming the 6th player in NBA History to reach 10,000 career assists. He had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists to finish the game.
The biggest scoring punch cam from our young stars, Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, each with 26 points. Booker wasn't as efficient as we've been used to recently, he was 50% from the field, which is good, but he shot 1 of 5 from 3 and only 3 of 6 from the free throw line. Book also added 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Ayton on the other hand had a very efficient night - as he should have - most of the night he was guarded by the smaller Markieff Morris (always satisfying to see him struggling) and defensive sieve Montrezl Harrell. Harrell himself had a big game though, so he gave as good as he got. DA was an excellent 10 of 13 from the field and shot 6 of 7 from the free throw line. The Deandre we saw in this game was reminiscent of the one we saw for that 4 game stretch in January. Tonight's 26 were the most he'd had since 22nd January.
There really isn't much to say about this game. There were no key moments that took the game for us, Phoenix just simply controlled the game from start to finish, winning every quarter. The Lakers did hang around for most of the game, but the result here was never in doubt. The only chink in the armour was some poor 3 point shooting, as we only hit 9 of our 32 attempts.
It's great to get the win as we start an Eastern road trip this week. Next up is Miami on Tuesday.
