The valley boys came through again on the road against the HOU Rockets to take their record to 35-14. This was their 9th win in the last 10 games.

Last night was a high scoring affair ending 133-130.

Top performers for Phoenix were Deandre Ayton with a very impressive 27 points and 11 rebounds on 10-14 shooting and of course Devin Booker who scorched the Rockets for 36-6-6 on 11-20 (6-8 from 3). Book scored 18 of his 36 in the 4th Quarter after a fast starting 1st period.

Even though the Suns lead for the majority of the game they didn't have it all their own way. The Rockets who are having a year to forget but showed a lot of pluck made the game interesting at the end. Both teams shot the ball well from 3 with the Rockets shooting at 27-33 (51.5%) and the Suns with 27-31 (48.6%).

The Suns appeared to be fully in control with the HT score at 70-60. By going to DA often in the post, he took full advantage of the mis-matches the Rockets switching created. He was catching the ball deep in the post and making quick decisions before the double team could come. DA had all of his 27 Points by the end of the 3rd however Houston did rally at the end of the Quarter and took the lead early in the 4th Quarter 105-104.

At that point, Booker came back off the bench and went on a run of his own, a 10-0 run in just over a minute. There was nobody on the Rockets who could guard him and Book knew it. Even after that Houston made another run trying to win the game as the Suns were up 9 with over a minute left. But the Suns iced the game with their as always solid Free Throw shooting.

Other notable contributors were Most Improved Player candidate Mikal Bridges with 20 Points and his always aggressive defence. Also chipping in as always was the floor General Chris Paul who had a quiet by his standards 19 Points, 11 Assists and 4 Steals. All of CP3's production seem to come in the flow of the offence, nothing was forced. This stat line also marked another milestone for the Point God:

The bench didn't really contribute Points-wise last night, only Cam Johnson with 12 Points was anything of note which included a nice 4-Point play.

The Suns have shown throughout the season that they can win all different types of games, high scoring, low scoring, slow paced and fast paced. This will stand us in the good stead for the coming months and hopefully beyond.

Next up for the Suns is a big test with the league-leading UTA Jazz coming to town on Wednesday night on ESPN.
